The Ad Council represents a unique collaboration between the advertising and media industries. Advertising agency teams donate their time pro bono to the development of public service advertising campaigns that are then run in donated time and space across media platforms. The Ad Council works on over fifty different campaigns on issues related to Health and Safety, Education and Community. Our clients behind these issues are government agencies (such as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Department of Transportation) and leading non-profit organizations (such as the United Way and Environmental Defense).
Last year the Ad Council received over $2 billion dollars in donated media behind our fifty campaigns.
We work with advertising agencies and communications firms across the United States, who are full partners in the development of the strategies and creative elements. All strategies and creative concepts must be approved by the Ad Council’s Campaign Review Committee (CRC), made up of senior creative executives from the advertising industry, who meet monthly to assess the work. Beyond traditional creative platforms, such as television, radio, magazines and newspaper, our campaigns extend to all forms of digital, viral and guerilla platforms, in an effort to reach our target audiences in the most effective way possible.
